The Coach Evelyn Is Even Better Than the Impossible-to-Find Tory Burch Charlie—& It's on Sale

Over the weekend, a friend texted me “Have you seen the Tory Burch Charlie drawstring bag? It looks like your fake Chanel one…but dare I say, cuter?” (Yes, I have a fake Chanel 25, don’t judge.) This launched into a Google frenzy of looking up the Tory Burch bag all the cool girls and moms are going feral for, finding out it’s sold out, and then finding an even cuter (and more affordable) alternative to the alternative.

My discovery? Coach Outlet makes a really good quilted tote bag that arguably rivals both the Charlie and Chanel 25.

I then texted my husband to buy me the Evelyn for Mother’s Day, but now I’ve decided I can’t wait an entire month and am purchasing it NOW before everyone else figures it out I’ve stumbled upon a secret gold mine.

It’s very similar to the Tory Burch Charlie bag—and yes, also the $7k Chanel Caviar 25—but I actually like it more because it’s bigger and functions more like an everyday tote bag. I can easily see myself stuffing my laptop and planner in it for the office, and then wearing it on the weekend or at a dressy event. It has the same drawstring feature (and quilted detailing, plus gold hardware threaded throughout and on the handle), but isn’t a small bucket bag. Guys, I’m sold. I’ve sold it to myself. I’m getting this bag.

Like all Coach bags, you get high quality and functionality, as well as fun and trendy style. Without paying an arm and a leg for it! Made with genuine, shiny-soft leather, this bag has multiple pockets to store your lip balms and toddler’s fruit snacks. It comfortably fits a 15-inch laptop, and even has a zipper enclosure to keep your belongings extra safe (the Charlie actually does not, may I note).

The major difference is that the Evelyn doesn’t have the side flap-style pockets like the Charlie and Chanel 25 do. But I’m OK with this, and would rather take the extra roominess over exterior pockets. And don’t you worry, I’ve read through the reviews so you don’t have to (if you don’t want to).
