I’m marking the end of dog wee wee stains in my grass – my lawncare buy makes the ugly brown spots disappear
A WOMAN has kissed goodbye to dog wee wee stains in her grass.
Thanks to a lawncare buy, the ugly brown marks have disappeared and been replaced with a lush lawn.
She is delighted to have seen the last of her unsightly polka-dot garden.
Garden Gal Danielle (@gardengaldanielle) was plagued by an uneven grassy area.
Her pet pooch’s toilet habits had got the better of this lawn.
Its wee wee was staining the grass, leaving an unattractive lawn.
WEE WEE WHY?
- Yellowing grass + dogs = pure chemistry
- Dog urine contains a variety of nitorgen compounds
- These are all good for our canine friends, but not great for lawns
- Too much nitrogen will burn the grass
- This creates ugly yellow patches
WHAT’S THE WEE WEE SOLUTION?
- You could try potty training, but unlikey to work
- Find an alternative to your back yard as the local urinal, but hardly convenient
- OR try Grass & Shrub Renew by Seymour
That’s what this garden doyenne resorted to and she has not looked back.
“No more dog wee wee stains in the grass,” she said of the product, available from Amazon for $11.
It will leave no long-term effects, either.
“The grass will grow back naturally. It will just cover up the ugly part but won’t inhibit the growth,” she said.
Her garden has gone from polka-dot to a pristine grass area.
Grass & Shrub Renew promises to restore a “lush green look to your shrubs with this fast-drying marking paint.”
It covers up those yellow spots while still allowing the existing foliage to grow. It will not harm plants or grass.

- Use netting like the Garden Netting Pest Barrier, $8, from Amazon to keep away bugs that eat your vegetables.
- Try sacrificial planting to reduce the use of pesticides and keep pests away from your garden. Deliberately growing certain plants to attract agricultural pests can keep them away from the plants you want to protect. Examples include marigolds, lavender, catnip, and chives.
- For pesky weeds in your garden, the Grampa’s Weeder – The Original Stand-Up Weed Puller Tool with Long Handles, $45, from Amazon is a helpful tool you can use without having to bend over.
Several commenters said they needed this product in their lives.
“I need this for my poor neighbor’s shrub that my dog pees on every time they get in the car,” said one person.
“Lord I would have to get a case of it. But that’s a great idea. Thanks for the info,” wrote a third person.
But several commenters had their own solutions to yellow peril, such as this person.
“When I gave my dog bottled water or filtered water these stains went away,” they said.
