Is Blue Ivy Going To The 2026 Met Gala With Mom Beyonce?
We’re calling it now: Blue Ivy will attend the Met Gala alongside her mom, Beyoncé. While Beyoncé, who is one of this year’s co-chairs, hasn’t confirmed whether she’s bringing her oldest daughter as her plus-one, we’re trusting our instincts with this one and predicting that the 14-year-old could make her debut.
Blue has become increasingly public in recent years, joining her mom’s backup dancers on her Cowboy Tour and even doing voice acting with Beyoncé in Mufasa: The Lion King. While she’s no stranger to a red carpet after joining her mom and dad, Jay-Z, at the 2024 and 2025 Grammys, Blue hasn’t attended the Met Gala, possibly due to the event’s strict guest rules.
In the past, the Met Gala has only invited guests 18+ since 2018. In 2021, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio confirmed the rule when her older sister, Dixie D’Amelio, attended without her. “The funny thing about this is, I’m actually not old enough to go to the Met Gala,” she explained during a SiriusXM appearance at the time.
However, things might have changed because Nicole Kidman recently confirmed that her 17-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, will be joining her. Kidman is co-chairing the event alongside Beyoncé and said during a March 11 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, “I’m so, so happy, and my daughter Sunday will be coming.” Perhaps this will inspire her fellow co-chair to bring Blue Ivy.
If that wasn’t enough evidence, Blue Ivy’s grandmother, Tina Knowles, didn’t deny speculation when she was asked whether her teen granddaughter would attend the Met Gala during an April 28 interview on the Sherri show. “I don’t know,” Tina said. “Don’t Sherri. You’re trying to get me in trouble…I would love to see her go. I don’t know. I don’t know. I hope so.”
Blue Ivy is the oldest of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s three children. She’s a big sister to 8-year-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter.
