After a dry start to the year, Central Texas is finally seeing a spring turnaround. April has delivered above-normal rainfall, helping chip away at deficits built up over the first three months of the year, and we are expecting this wetter spring pattern to continue. The Climate Prediction Center’s (CPC) May outlook is calling for wetter-than-normal conditions across Central Texas. That raises an important question: could a rainy May help keep our summer temperatures in check?
