Collin Murray-Boyles becomes third rookie in franchise history to record double double in Playoffs
The Toronto Raptors came away with an epic Game 4 victory in Toronto to send the series back to Cleveland all tied up at two games apiece.
Ninth overall pick Collin Murray-Boyles made history in the showdown against Cleveland as he became just the third rookie in franchise history to come away with a double-double in the postseason, joining teammate Scottie Barnes (2022 against the Philadelphia 76ers) and Jamario Moon, who pulled off the feat in 2008 during their first-round matchup against the Orlando Magic.
CMB came away with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 27 minutes of action as the rookie was a force in the paint and relentless on the offensive glass as he came away with 5 offensive rebounds in a game where Toronto needed every shot they could get their hands on as the team shot a collective 32 percent from the field.
CMB has been unbelievable in the playoffs, averaging 17 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1 steal per game while shooting 66.6 percent from the field over the first four games of this series.
The Raptors are vastly outmatched in size by the Cavaliers’ dual big lineup of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. Still, Boyles does not let that affect his game as he filled in for the injured Jakob Poeltl 22 times in the starting lineup and averaged 5.7 rebounds with 1.2 blocks per game as a starter during the regular season. He might only show a height of 6’7″ on paper, but the rookie out of South Carolina continues to show he plays much bigger than that.
