Virginia Tech lands San Diego State transfer Miles Heide
By JAMES MADDEN
Virginia Tech has landed a commitment from San Diego State transfer Miles Heide, per reports. DraftExpress first reported the news on Thursday.
A 6-foot-9 center and product of Washington, Heide averaged 5.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Aztecs this season, which was also his third with the program.
Set to play for head coach Mike Young at Virginia Tech, Heide appeared in 99 career games for the Aztecs over the course of his three-year career in San Diego.
He was viewed as one of the best offensive rebounders remaining in the portal, averaging 2.0 offensive rebounds per game this past season for San Diego State.
Heide is the Hokies’ second pick up of the transfer portal, joining Oklahoma transfer Kuol Atal, who committed earlier this month.
He and the Hokies will be striving to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022 next season.
