ESPN Launching Sports-Themed Trivia Show With 'Jeopardy!'
The Jeopardy! universe is expanding with a sports-only trivia spinoff.
Sony Pictures Television is teaming up with ESPN to launch ESPN Jeopardy! — a version of the popular trivia game show for sports fanatics. The new show will stream on Disney+ and Hulu, and is expected to be hosted by ESPN's Monday Night Football play-by-play announcer Joe Buck.
The contestants on the series will be ESPN talent representing charities of their choice. Contestants will compete for $500,000 and the title of ESPN Jeopardy! champion at the end of the tournament-style event.
ESPN talent will “face off to experience the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in a new arena: the Alex Trebek Stage,” according to a description from Sony Pictures Television.
A premiere date has yet to be announced.
