Utah transfer Terrence Brown commits to North Carolina
By JAMES MADDEN
Highly-ranked Utah transfer Terrence Brown is headed to play for Michael Malone at North Carolina, he announced on Instagram.
Brown, one of the best scorers in the portal this year, was one of the most sought after transfers and will ultimately play for the Tar Heels next season.
In his one and only season at Utah, Brown averaged 19.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in 32 appearances for the Utes.
Prior to his decision of transferring to Utah, he spent two seasons playing at Fairleigh Dickinson and played 64 games for the Knights, while averaging north of 20 points per game during his sophomore season in Teaneck, NJ.
Brown will join the Tar Heels as their second highly-rated transfer of this year’s cycle, joining Greek guard and Virginia Tech transfer Neoklis Avdalas, along with four-star high school recruit Maximo Adams and class of 2026 guard Malloy Smith.
The Tar Heels are entering Malone’s first season as the program’s head coach, after taking over for Hubert Davis, who was fired after five seasons with the school last month.
