Triple H Reveals Where Brock Lesnar Stands After WrestleMania Loss
Social media continues to buzz with the fallout from Wrestlemania 42, even though the event has officially concluded.
Following an emotional defeat to rising WWE star Oba Femi, Brock Lesnar created one of the night's most significant moments by removing his ring attire and sharing a hug with his longtime advocate, Paul Heyman, in what appeared to be a retirement gesture.
Paul Michael Levesque, known as Triple H, is the current Chief Content Officer and a former WWE icon. He recently shared perspectives on Lesnar's state of mind during a guest spot on ESPN's SportsCenter.
Is Brock Lesnar Really Retiring?
“Brock is not a walk back through the curtain and have a long conversation guy,” Triple H explained. “Brock is a walk back through the curtain very angry and go to his bus and that is the end of it. So, there was not a discussion had after."
Triple H then said Lesnar’s actions of removing his wrestling gear wasn't a “planned thing.”
“I think Brock went to the ring, he walked into a wall called Oba Femi,” he explained. “Brock walked up to the next big thing and ran into a brick wall. And the intelligence in him said, ‘Maybe I should call it a day.”
He continued: “That is not a statement of Brock being afraid of it. That is an intelligent man meeting something that cannot be stopped. It is as much of a statement of Oba Femi as it is Brock Lesnar.”
In his concluding remarks, Triple H observed that the audience had just seen a "changing of the guard at the apex of our business."
In a live reaction to news of Lesnar’s possible retirement, former WWE superstar and current YouTube sensation Maven shared his thoughts.
“As Brock is taking his boots off, symbolizing he’s done, that’s what wrestlers do,” he said while talking to a fan.
When the fan asked if he thought it was Lesnar’s last match, Maven admitted, “At some point, it has to stop.”
“At some point, the body just can’t take it anymore,” he explained. “Brock did a good thing, passing the torch to Obe. Younger. Big talent. But now, the people are showing their appreciation to Brock.”
“Whether it is or isn’t the last match, it’s wrestling. And that’s the beautiful part about wrestling.”
WWE Legend Calls It Quits
On April 25, WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Valiant will wrestle his final match for the NAWA (North American Wrestling Alliance) Championship Wrestling at the Buford High School Gymnasium in Lancaster, South Carolina.
“Yes, this will be my final dance. I’ve retired before, but this is truly my last dance,” Valiant said last month. “I’m honored to hang up myboots after 62 years of wrestling pro. I had over 15,000 matches and drove 6 million miles on U.S. highways, plus flying, getting to those matches.”
James Harold Fanning, who debuted in 1964 under the moniker "Big Jim Vallen," rose to prominence in the WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation) during the 1970s as "Handsome Jimmy Valiant." Alongside the late Johnny "Luscious" Valiant, he formed the legendary Valiant Brothers tag team. This powerhouse pair enjoyed a decorated career, securing the WWWF Tag Team Championship and four reigns as WWA (World Wrestling Association) Tag Team Champions.
