Popular Series Starring Kate Hudson Returns to Netflix This Week
In addition to rolling out several new original series this week, Netflix will also debut Season Two of Running Point, the sports comedy starring Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon, a reformed party girl left in charge of her family's professional basketball franchise.
All 10 episodes of Running Point's second installment will be available to Netflix subscribers on Thursday, April 23.
What to know about 'Running Point'
The first season of Running Point was released on February 27, 2025 and earned a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.3/10 score on IMDB.
Created by Elaine Ko, Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, the show is loosely based on the life story of Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss. Indeed, the name of the team Hudson's character runs is the Los Angeles Waves.
Drew Tarver and Scott MacArthur star alongside Hudson as her brothers who are also part of the Waves' front office. Brenda Song, Chet Hanks, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman and Justin Theroux also have starring roles.
What to expect from Season Two
Hudson, along with Tarver and MacArthur, appeared on Today on NBC earlier his morning to promote the show.
During the conversation, Hudson likened her role as Gordon to her actual life, saying she "definitely understands what it feels like to be the only girl," having grown up with brothers.
She also offered praise for her costars and on-screen siblings.
"We're so lucky we get to go to work every day with each other. Hopefully we'll get to do a Season Three," Hudson said. "I can't wait for people to see this season because it's so great and jam-packed with so much good, fun family dynamic."
Season 2 of Running Point won't be available on Netflix for two more days, but you can read a full preview from the streaming service and view the opening scene here.
