Salma Hayek Puts Her Gray Hair on Full Display in a Sheer Look for the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony
We’re obsessed with Salma Hayek’s rare red carpet appearance!
In case you missed it, Hayek once again attended the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. This year, for the 12th year in a row, celebrities went to the “Oscars for scientists,” held at Barker Hangar on April 18, 2026. Hayek is a staple every year, and we’re obsessed with her look for this year. See the photos below:
For the event, Hayek wowed in a sheer, sparkling black Gucci gown, which she paired with statement silver jewelry. But the star of her look was her proudly showing off her gray hair in a swooped bun. She’s no stranger to showing off her gray hair, even at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony (where she’s shown it off before), but this one is different. Hayek is truly embracing all her grays, and it’s the most gray we’ve seen from her; and we’re obsessed!

In a previous interview with Marie Claire UK, Hayek said that to be confident, you need to be grateful for your age.
“It’s about being in the present and being alive. When you’re present you forget certain things; I’m not thinking about how old I am when I wake up. I don’t even look in the mirror. Though, sometimes when I do look in the mirror I go, ‘Oh Jesus’, or I’ll think ‘How come I’m always tired?’ and I’ll remember, ‘Ah, I’m older now’. When it dawns on me, I make the effort to connect with life again,” she said. “I’m just amazed that at my age I’m still working and having the best moment of my career. At this point I’m just grateful.”
