05/30/2025: Tracking MORE Weekend Rain
The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologists Matt Mackie and Kevin Appleby:
While Friday is mostly dry, widespread rainfall will overspread the region overnight and into Saturday, which will mark 28 consecutive weekends with rainfall observed at the Albany Airport. Some showers may linger behind this coastal system for Sunday, but it will be the overall better of the two weekend days with a bit more sun and more consistently dry weather. A big warming trend - several days in the 80s - is in store as we roll through the first week of June.
Today isn't perfect, but it will be largely dry with a bit of midday sun boosting temperatures into the low to mid 70s.
Clouds increase into the evening, with rain developing around and after midnight. Some of the rain will be heavy at times, especially to the southeast of Albany.
Temperatures will drop into the 50s overnight, staying mild despite the increasingly heavier and more widespread rainfall.
Rain will be especially steady on Saturday during the AM hours, with a bit lighter, more scattered shower activity expected for the PM hours.
With a bit of afternoon dry time, the breeze will begin to pick up, gusting up to 25 MPH. Clouds should hang tough, keeping temperatures in the low to mid 60s for highs.
Even with a bit of sun Sunday, we will be under a chilly air mass. Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 60s, and a few instability, isolated showers are possible at times. It will continue to be breezy, with gusts to around 30 MPH possible. Monday is when our weather takes a big step forward, a big step towards a more summer-like feel. Under a partly sunny sky, highs to kick off the work week will top out near or just about 70.
Temperatures will push 80 on Tuesday and then climb well into the 80s for Wednesday and Thursday. By Thursday, there will be a noticeable increase in humidity. A more summer-like day could feature summer-like downpours and thunderstorms as well! However, once we get through Saturday's rain, we can look forward to a ton of sunshine, warmth, and sunshine!
