2 dead after motorcycle crash in Glens Falls
GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- New York State Police are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed two people early Saturday morning. According to state police, the accident occurred around 12:20 a.m. at the intersection of Bacon and Glen Streets.
Troopers said the motorcycle was being driven by Alex Morehouse, 38, of Warrensburg, when troopers attempted to stop the bike on State Route 9 near Hidden Farm Road in Queensbury for a speeding violation. Morehouse failed to comply with the stop and continued driving, troopers said.
According to state police, troopers disengaged their emergency lights and stopped pursuing the motorcycle at the intersection of State Route 9 and Lafayette Street due to public safety concerns caused by the speed. Shortly after, officers of the Glens Falls Police Department reported seeing the motorcycle hit a curb and crash.
Morehouse was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Suzie Etu, 38, of South Glens Falls, was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The New York State Attorney General's Office was notified of the crash and responded to the scene. State Police said an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
