Grace Day is an esthetician at the online cosmetics store Beauty Bay, specializing in everything from skincare and makeup to wellness.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared how to achieve a streak-free fake tan.
GOLDEN GLOW
Day said fake tanning is the “only safe way” to make skin look tanned.
Formulas range from sprays and mists to mousses and creams, with instant to gradual effects.
She revealed a selection of her favorite products for a lasting flawless tan.
“St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Spray makes application to hard-to-reach areas much easier, develops in just a few hours, and can be built up daily for more intense color,” she said.
“Sosu Cosmetics Express Serum develops in as little as an hour – but you can leave it on for up to three hours depending on how deep you like your tan.
“The Fox Tan Gradual Glow Body Lotion can be used to moisturize your whole body, as it tans.
“Use consistently to see a beautiful, streak-free glow develop.”
BASIC BRONZER
Day revealed the best beauty products to enhance skin color quickly without a long-term commitment.
“For a more temporary fix, try the By Beauty Bay Future Bronze Body Base,” she said.
“A blurring, lightweight, and instant body makeup that gives an instant tint of tan whilst evening out skin tone.
“For the face, try the Bondi Sands Technocolour Self Tanning Face Serum to deliver a customized color while minimizing breakouts and brightening the skin in time for summer.”
She said hours don’t need to be spent preparing the skin before applying fake tans if you have the right item.
“To remove any fake tan build-up and make way for a fresh new application, invest in a tan remover to dramatically reduce the amount of time you’ll need to spend scrubbing,” she said.
“Ditch the sun beds and ensure you’ve stocked up on SPF to ensure your faux-tanned skin stays glowing all summer, without the sun damage.”
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends wearing sunscreen even when using self-tanning products as the sun emits harmful UV rays daily.
Sunscreen should be broad-spectrum protection, water resistant, and SPF 30 or higher.

It is also recommended to stay in the shade and wear lightweight clothes that protect from the sun.
Dermatologists warn that sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer are among the conditions that can result from sun exposure.
Grace Day’s fake tanning tips come after she spoke to The U.S. Sun about how to avoid strawberry legs when shaving.
She recommended regularly exfoliating and using a “clean, sharp razor” to shave.
She also suggested buying an anti-friction stick to avoid chafing throughout the summer.
