Troy man arrested on multiple drug charges
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a Troy man following a joint investigation with the Troy Police Department. Eric Harris, 45, is facing multiple charges.
On April 24, police executed a search warrant at an apartment on Ninth Street in Troy in connection to an ongoing investigation. As a result of the search, Harris was allegedly found to be in possession of over fives ounces of heroin, fentanyl and suboxone, a half ounce of crack cocaine, and just under a half ounce of assorted pills, in addition to scales, packaging materials and cash.
"Cooperation between police agencies enhances the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts against drug trafficking networks. By sharing information and coordinating operations, agencies can target drug dealers, manufacturers, and distributors more strategically, leading to more significant arrests and seizures," said Rensselaer County Sheriff Kyle Bourgault.
Harris was then taken into custody. He now faces the following charges:
Charges
- Second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Criminal possession of a narcotic drug - intent to sell
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia
Harris was arraigned at the Troy City Court and was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
