Coast Guard removes Chaplin from duty for loss of confidence
WASHINGTON (KLFY) -- The United States Coast Guard announced they have removed the Chaplin of the Coast Guard from his primary duty.
In a press release on Wednesday, the Coast Guard announced their decision to remove Capt. Daniel Mode, Chaplain of the Coast Guard, from his primary duty due to a loss of confidence.
Mode has served as the Coast Guard's Chaplain at the Headquarters in Washington, D.C. since 2022. The Coast Guard says he will reassigned by the Navy Chaplain Corps to duties outside the Coast Guard.
In his Mode's place, Capt. Richard Ryan, Coast Guard Atlantic Area Chaplin, will temporarily assume the position until a permanent replacement is appointed.
