I tried Kendall Jenner’s £1 hack to give my eyebrows a lift without lamination – it works but the look’s divided people
A BEAUTY lover has left left people totally divided after sharing her success with the viral Kendall Jenner’s eyebrow lift hack.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, you will know that brow lamination has been all the rage in the beauty community.
But although the results promise to give your brows – and, in turn, face – a more lifted appearance, not only can it go terribly wrong, but the procedure is also oftentimes costly.
Whilst the prices vary depending on the location and the professional, on average you can expect to fork out anywhere from £45 to around £100 for a session, Marie Claire UK reported earlier this year.
Luckily, if you’re on the lookout for a less expensive alternative, one of the Kardashian-Jenner clan sisters, Kendall Jenner, has come to rescue with an easy hack that’s perfect if you’re on a budget.
In a video shared by Vogue, the 28-year-old reality star revealed how she cleverly uses Gua Sha, a traditional Chinese healing method that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to help improve circulation.
This method, which has become increasingly popular recently, is also thought to help with the body’s lymphatic system, as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines and other signs of ageing, SKN BAR reported.
In the now-viral clip, which has been viewed more than 14million times in a week, the stunning model could be seen using the tool and gliding it across her eyebrow in an upwards motion.
”It needs a little lift, it kind of falls into my eye,” the beauty explained, as she demonstrated the trick.
£1 bargain – and rave reviews
Although the high street is full of different Gua Sha tools for every budget, you can also order them from as little as £1 from Shein and places like Amazon.
After the hack took the internet by storm, one beauty lover, Peyton Smith, from Australia, decided to give it a go, too.
In total disbelief by the results, the Aussie was stunned to see that one of her brows instantly looked almost laminated.
”Oh my goodness, it worked!” she exclaimed in the video.
‘It’s only temporary’
But whilst Peyton may have been all chuffed with the makeover, the Gua Sha trick had left fellow social media users totally divided, as they raced to comments to share their thoughts – and express scepticism.
One wrote: ”Kendall literally had eyelift surgery and yes this is temporary.”
Someone else agreed, writing: ”It lasts for like two seconds unfortunately.”
A third chimed in: ”You can do more with a spoolie. Even better with eyebrow gel/soap.”
However, there were also heaps of positive remarks, as some flocked too hit back at the critics.
”Gua Sha is an incredible tool, I strongly recommend following someone actually practiced in this technique though, consistency is key!”
Another said: ”This works, just like anything if you stay consistent. I used to do this every night.
”I stopped but my face always looks like I had some fresh Botox, even though I have never gotten any.”
Healthy habits to prevent skin ageing
Although a lot of this has to do with your genetics and how much care you take of your skin, there are also a few healthy habits that can make a huge difference.
Use sunscreen to avoid sun damage every day, no matter whether it’s sunny or cloudy.
Avoid sunbeds, which have also been linked to skin cancer and premature ageing.
Avoid smoking, vaping and excessive drinking.
Stick to healthy and nourishing foods, such as green leafy veggies and fruit.
Make sure you get a good amount of sleep – roughly eight hours a night.
