K9 assists in Adams arrest following traffic stop
ADAMS, Mass., (NEWS10) -- The Adams Police Department reported an arrest that followed a traffic stop and pursuit from Tuesday into Wednesday. The name of the suspect has not been released.

- Speeding
- Failure to stop for police
- Marked lanes violation
- Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
- Speeding in construction zone
- Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license
- Destruction of property
- Resisting arrest
During the traffic stop, the suspect was found to allegedly have a suspended license while test-driving a car from an auto dealer and fled from the scene, causing a police pursuit. Police report that the suspect eluded them but that they found the suspect abandoned the car in the Savoy State Forest.
The police, along with the Massachusetts State Police Airwing, K9 Unit, and Drone Unit, canvased the forest. They were unsuccessful in finding the suspect at the time.
At around 3:14 a.m. on Wednesday, police reported being told that the suspect was near Glen Street. Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly fled on foot but officers secured a perimeter.
K9 Adam and his handler Sergeant Crane arrived on the scene and began to search the area. Police report that K9 Adam located the suspect who fled until he was ultimately arrested.
