McDonald’s opening times for Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday
It may be the time of year for chocolate but some of you may be craving a Maccy D’s over the Easter weekend.
Whether you’re making a long journey to see family and friends or you just fancy treating yourself, you’ll need to know the opening times for McDonald’s over the next few days.
So whether you fancy a Chicken Legend meal or you want to sample the Easter specials, here’s when McDonald’s will be open over the bank holiday.
Is McDonald’s open over Easter?
Yes. Most McDonald’s stores will be open for delivery and collection over Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday.
Many locations will operate with their usual hours – but on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, you may find opening and closing times vary slightly.
There’s no standard opening time for McDonald’s in the UK, so it’s best to check your local restaurant’s specific hours using the handy branch finder.
Some McDonald’s restaurants around the UK are open 24/7 should you find yourself fancying one at an unusual time, though.
McDonald’s has been busy lately.
First it dropped a limited-edition Easter menu, with a divisive new pie, then they revealed they’re going to be making a major change to all of their beef burgers across the UK and Ireland.
So that’s cheeseburgers, Quarter Pounders, and, of course, the iconic Big Mac, that are all undergoing a transformation.
While it’s still pretty much the same ingredients being used for each, the fast food chain is switching up how they cook their beef, starting with the way the patties are grilled.
Going forward they will be given a ‘tighter sear’ to keep the juices locked inside to produce a hotter and more flavourful burger.
If you pop in over the Easter weekend, chicken fans will be glad to know they have brought back the McCrispy Deluxe, which they claim is the ‘greatest’ version of the McCrispy of all time.
The burger costs £5.89 and features 100% chicken breast fillet in a crispy coating, topped with a hot and spicy mayo, caramelised onion compote, seasonal lettuce, bacon, red onions, a slice of cheddar cheese, all served in a sourdough style bun.
Also making a comeback are everyone’s favourite halloumi fries with a tomato dip (£2.79), plus the iconic Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry (£2.19), which sees soft dairy ice cream swirled with pieces of Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate and topped with a Creme Egg sauce.
There are also three brand new Easter treats on the menu with two Hot Cross Bun-inspired items.
Fans of the spiced seasonal treat will want to get their hands on the brand new Hot Cross Bun Pie, which is made up of a crispy cinnamon pastry, filled with a spiced fruit mix and butter-flavour cream filling. At £1.99, McDonald’s say it’s ‘the perfect balance of spicy and oh so sweet’.
Similarly there’s a new Hot Cross Bun Latte, which costs £2.69 and is a smooth latte that’s blended with a sweet and spiced Hot Cross Bun flavour syrup, topped with cinnamon cream and a Hot Cross Bun flavour dusting. Yum.
McDonald’s has also recently announced customers will soon be able to order world famous doughnuts along with their McCafé drink or Big Mac and fries.
McDonald’s has announced it will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts at all of its US locations by the end of 2026. Three flavors will be offered – Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced Glazed with Sprinkles, and Chocolate Iced Kreme-Filled.
Customers will be able to buy the doughnuts individually or in a six-pack, Krispy Kreme announced of the partnership on Tuesday. They will be available from the morning until they sell out.
