SUNY Empire announces new memorial scholarship
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Empire State University has announced a new scholarship named after the founding dean of the School of Nursing. The scholarship honors Dr. Bridget Nettleton's work in the field.
The scholarship is available to the students of the School of Nursing and Allied Health who meet the Empire State University Foundation criteria. The scholarship aims to bridge the gap between academia and healthcare by supporting nursing education, particularly in light of the nationwide nursing shortage.
Alumni said the scholarship is a great way to honor the doctor's legacy.
"She was a great advocate for students but also always accessible, always kind and caring," SUNY Empire Alum David Theobald. "Was very involved in leadership throughout the community."
Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. And the submission of a FAFSA and nine credit prerequisite may be waived for nursing students.
