I’m not being dramatic when I say a flooring trend in interior design is the worst, it’s always in cheap flipped houses
AN interior designer has shared an overplayed floor trend they urged viewers to avoid.
She explained that the home trend turned her off because it looked cheap.
Dani (@danidazey) shared the interior design tip in a TikTok video.
She explained that she didn’t think she was being “dramatic” in her dislike for grey floors.
On top of being the “absolute worst,” she cemented the design choice as the “most horrifying interior design trend ever.”
The reason, she said, was that the flooring never managed to pass off as “real wood.”
“It is clearly laminate, wood doesn’t come in grey,” she said.
Dani revealed that her hate was reserved specifically for the monotone shade, as she normally enjoyed nearly every color.
Even basic color choices, like black and white, were up her alley.
Gray floors, an indicator of bad taste for her, even turned her off from taking on new clients.
The interior designer revealed that when she sees a potential client’s grey floors and no budget to make a change, she makes the decision to refuse the project.
“Whether you’re a minimalist or a maximalist, please say no to grey floors, ” she urged.
Viewers reflected on her interior design dealbreaker in the comments.
Many agreed that the flooring trend was a huge no-no for them as well.
“Grey is my biggest ‘ick,'” wrote one commenter.
“Grey walls, grey wood floors, time to go,” said another.

“Immediately makes a home look flipped and cheap,” said a third.
Some thought the color scheme was a red flag indicator of a larger real estate problem.
“I agree, it gives me cheap/bad/gentrifier flipper,” wrote one viewer.
“Screams Dollar General flip to me,” agreed another.
A few took up the issue with the color being a big mood-killer.
“I hate that the house we bought has grey floors and walls,” said one.
“It looked like we were seeing without color.”
Dani agreed that the color tended to suck the joy out of any mood and atmosphere.
“Omg, it totally does have that effect. Like a B&W movie,” she replied.
