McAlester man arrested on First-Degree Murder charge
MCALESTER, Okla. (KFOR) - A man has been arrested in connection to a homicide investigation in McAlester.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the McAlester Police Department requested the bureau's help with a homicide investigation on March 26, after responding to a home earlier that morning.
Officials say officers responded to a residence near West Park Avenue and North Hickory Street regarding possible gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found 35-year-old Tyrann Williams deceased.
The OSBI began investigating the incident and found 19-year-old Johnathon Riggins. He was later arrested on a First-Degree Murder charge and booked into the Pittsburg County Jail.
According to the OSBI, Williams was taken to the Office of the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner, where his cause and manner of death will be determined.
