I transformed my backyard for under $200 – a $6 Home Depot buy made a big difference & my weeds are gone
TWO homeowners have renovated their backyard for a budget, using easily accessible materials to create an elevated look.
A cheap Home Depot product made a huge difference, and the weeds in her garden have disappeared.
Newlyweds Jesse and Kay (@jesseandkay) enjoy trying new home improvement projects.
They invited viewers into their backyard in a TikTok video as they showcased their DIY renovation.
The pair decided it was time for a backyard refresh of their New Jersey property and documented the process from start to finish.
They were able to completely revamp the space for less than $200.
First, they removed the stubborn weeds that popped up, so they could extend the patio, and laid down fresh stone on the dirt.
The two women did the manual labor on their own and shared snippets of their hard work.
They weren’t the first to tackle this task, and many viewers related to how high it could all cost.
“FYI I actually did this and it was $558, and we still need more limestone,” one admitted.
They even took a trip to The Home Depot to gather materials with their dog.
In a comment, they said that the squared-shaped stone they used as the base was Bagged Marble Chip Landscape Rock, $6.47 from the store for a half cubic foot.
The large-format cement tiles were already there, which saved them money from the start, but normally retail for about $30 apiece.
They filled each concert tile with the “chips” to create a cozy, elevated vibe.
Jesse and Kay added two wooden benches, a patio table, and an umbrella to complete their backyard transformation.
Some viewers weren’t impressed at first, but by the end, they were in awe.
“Ok at first when I saw all the rocks on the floor I was like no please don’t but the end is BEAUTIFUL,” a viewer commented.
“Love the transformation. Did you make your table? I want to make a table from old fence boards,” another said.
Others couldn’t believe how good it looked for the price.
“There’s no way that’s all under $200. Looks great though!” a woman added.
