Gardeners go wild as Aldi restock their potting bench that will transform your outdoor space for just £30
AS Spring has officially sprung, many of us are looking forward to getting back into the garden.
Though it might not be wall-to-wall sunshine just yet, shoppers are racing to Aldi after seeing that supermarket’s potting bench is back on shelves.
If you are feeling particularly green-fingered over Easter, you are in luck as the gardening essential is in stores from today (Thursday 28).
Re-released as part of the supermarket’s SpecialBuys, this easy-to-assemble garden furniture will help you transform your garden without any fuss.
According to the product description, the potting bench is made from FSC-certified wood and has a weatherproof ‘zinc-plated work top’ – which is ideal for preparing seedlings.
It also has two shelves for storing cuttings or any extra plant pots, as well as three metal hanging hooks to keep your tools on.
Alternatively, you could use this nifty accessory as an outdoor mini kitchen island and pop it right next to your BBQ – the possibilities are endless.
Coming in two colours, a natural or grey shade, the Aldi bargain buy will suit almost every garden and work with your existing furniture.
The potting bench is also less than a meter wide, so it should work in even the most compact spaces and is a great way to kick-start your garden this Spring.
Amateur gardeners tend to agree and the accessory went semi-viral online last year after it was released by the German supermarket.
In fact, one savvy shopper who’d managed to pick up the SpecialBuy later proudly showed it off in the Mrs Hinch’s Gardening group.
Impressed by the bargain buy, one Facebook user replied: “I love it for a porch with drinks, glasses and flowers on…even cakes. Reminds me of a trolley my mum had. It’s lovely.”
Another added that they had slightly different plans for their potting bench, saying: “I bought one but I decided I’m going to use it next to my BBQ instead. [I’m adding] sauce bottles, a cutlery tray, tin foil, kitchen roll…plate storage on the shelves…oh I’m excited.”
If you are keen to get this gardening essential you will have to be quick though, as Aldi has reduced the price since last year.
Previously £34.99, the German supermarket is now selling the accessory for just £29.99 (yes, you read that right).

Starting from as little as £2.29, the product will be in stores from today (Thursday 28) with more items available between April 7 and 25.
