Bride considers faking her wedding after ‘checking out of relationship’ but not wanting to waste money

A BRIDE has confessed she’s considering faking her entire wedding just to please her friends and family and not let all the money already spent go to waste.

Since everything has already been booked she said she’s unlikely to get any deposits back, but doesn’t want to legally marry her man anymore.

Posting on Facebook the bride-to-me admitted she’s “mentally checked out of the relationship” but the wedding is all booked, planned and ready to go ahead this summer.

She asked: “Has anyone ever had a fake wedding? Like all your wedding plans stay the same but nobody signs the marriage papers?”

Her dilemma comes after a buildup of “concerns” some of which she confessed have “built up so long I can’t do anything but hold resentment towards him.”

“He tries and tries but there’s no left inside me,” the confused bride added.

The main problem with calling off the wedding would be that the guests have already forked out a lot of cash on flights and hotels, since it’s a destination wedding.

“Most have already booked accommodations. I just can’t see cancelling going over well now,” she said.

To make matters worse, the bride noted she doesn’t have the best relationship with her family, and the groom’s family situation is even worse.

“I can’t imagine any of them would understand,” she said.

She continued: “I have no idea what to do, no energy left to fight.”

After sharing her dilemma anonymously on social media people were quick to give her advice.

“Omg If I were you I’d just block everyone and disappear,” one person commented.

“I feel like she’s trying to protect him from embarrassment and shame related to the reasons she wants to end the relationship, and he doesn’t deserve that kind of protection.

“It’s sad that she knows her family and friends won’t support her…throw the whole man away,” a second wrote.

“I mean cancel and go on the trip with your best friends who already bought tickets. Cheers to not having to get a divorce or waste your life w this person,” a third chimed in.

Another said: “Cancel the damn wedding. A fake wedding with in-laws that hate you is punishing yourself.”

“Pulling out is a lot easier than going through with a sham,” someone else pointed out.

This isn’t the first time a bride has had some big dilemmas right before her big day though.

A bride revealed on Mumsnet she was forced to quit her job after her boss refused to give her time off for her own wedding.

The bride-to-be cleared her dates with them, but was shocked to find her manager later told her she couldn’t have the time off – as she’s on holiday.

To add insult to injury, the boss then told her she should reschedule her wedding so it didn’t clash with her trip.

Flabbergasted, the bride, a master’s student, says her only option is to quit.

Explaining the bonkers situation, the bride said she took the part-time job at a make-up counter to earn some extra money in the run-up to the wedding.

She said: “When I sent back my contract to HR I mentioned I had my wedding coming up and a week off for my honeymoon. They said that was no problem.

“I started the job and discovered my manager has the week of my honeymoon booked off for a holiday and flies out on my wedding day.

As there was no one available to work, the manager dropped the bombshell that the bride couldn’t have the time off to get married.

She continued: “My manager said I cannot have the time off.

“I thought she was joking so I said ‘sure, I’ll just re-arrange it for the following week then!’

“She said that I should make it at least a couple of weeks after HER holiday.

“I explained that it wasn’t possible to cancel my wedding and she said it was a shame I wasn’t showing my dedication to the brand and being a team player so early on in the job.”
