I hated my nails after biting them for 28 years… people said it was extreme, here’s how I finally sorted them
A SERIAL nail-biter has revealed how she managed to fix them after nearly three decades.
The woman, who goes by the TikTok handle @epoxyfromadfoxy, explained that she had been biting her nails for 28 years and left them in a dire state.
But after going through a healing process with the help of BIAB, otherwise known as ‘builder in a bottle’, she’s brought her nails back to normal.
BIAB is a nail strengthening gel that can be built up to create a hardwearing, shiny finish.
Sharing a series of photos of her journey, the first snap showed her nails looking extremely short, with most of her cuticles on display instead.
The woman kept going back to her nail technician for manicures, carefully applying gel polish to her weak nails over time.
Sporting rose and pink colours, her nails continued to grow and eventually reached a healthy length.
“I have been biting my nails for 28 years since I was 4. Here you can see the transformation my nails have made,” she wrote in the caption.
Viewers were quick to pile on the praise as one person wrote: “Biab is the best thing ever!! You won’t look back now they look amazing well done x”. [sic]
The woman replied: “Thank you !!! I am so happy with them”.
Another person asked exactly what BIAB is, to which she responded: “Builder in A bottle , you can go to A good nailartist they can help you”. [sic]
“Super proud of you! Nail biting is a very hard thing to stop. Your nails look amazing,” another shared.
While a fourth gave a suggestion as they said: “Fantastic work. I would recommend going to a good nail manicurist and getting the skin/cuticle area done.”
The woman replied: “thanks for your advice, in the last photo you can see that the cuticles have also been treated.” [sic]
Another asked: “How did you stop?”
She replied: “I want to stop with biting so i tried biab. Every 2-3 weeks going to a nailartist and now I have better nails”. [sic]
And a sixth shared: “I’m a nail biter but never took it to that extreme. I bet it hurt a ton, at least you’ve went past that need and improved yourself. happy for ya!” [sic]
