Journalist claims Spurs-linked manager is better suited to the Chelsea job
Mark Ogden has told ESPN that Julian Nagelsmann would be a better fit for Chelsea than Tottenham Hotspur, after the German manager was linked to the top job at Spurs in the wake of Antonio Conte’s departure.
The club announced Conte would be leaving his position after a mutual termination of his contract. The Italian was in charge at Spurs for just 16 months.

A difficult season had already put Conte’s position at risk, before an explosive press conference (Football.London) where the 53-year-old criticised his players and the club’s owners became the final nail in the coffin.
A report from the Telegraph claimed last week that Conte would be ending his tenure with Spurs by the end of the week, and that is exactly what happened.
Nagelsmann also lost his job last week, with Bayern Munich making the decision to sack the 35-year-old.
Since then, numerous reports had linked the exciting young manager with the role at Tottenham (Evening Standard and Football Insider).
It is thought Nagelsmann would like to wait until the summer before making a decision on his next move (The Times).
Now, Ogden suggests Nagelsmann may see Chelsea as a better project, should the West London club part ways with Graham Potter.
He said: “Let’s see where they (Chelsea) finish. Seventh, eight, or tenth.
“And if they are out of the Champions League. They are saying all the right things that Potter is safe, but from Nagelsmann’s perspective, Chelsea would be a better bet than Tottenham because they have invested in the squad.
“It’s just a case of having a coach who can knit it all together and get some very good players playing together.
“I am not sure Potter has that ability. It’s like Bayern saying Nagelsmann is their guy until 11 pm and Chelsea saying the same with Potter.”
On Potter’s position, he added: “Clubs always back their manager until they don’t.
“When they don’t, then they are gone – that’s what Potter has to be aware of, if Chelsea don’t finish in the Champions League places, then he has to be careful.”

I think Chelsea would have sacked Potter by now if they were going to, and surely his position isn’t reliant on achieving a top-four finish because that looks just about out of sight for Chelsea now.
One thing’s for sure though, we should be doing all we can to bring Nagelsmann to Spurs.
