We wanted unique names for our kids so added ‘L’ to the beginning of words – some might hate them but we’re obsessed
A COUPLE who chose unique names for both of their children have revealed just how they came up with the unusual moniker they gave their second daughter.
Ema and Branden are parents to two girls – the first of which is called Londyn.
They recently welcomed a second baby girl into the world, and teased their fans about her name before sharing it in a YouTube video.
In the clip, they announced they’d called their daughter Lynroe Breckyn Taylor.
Of choosing her first name, Ema said: “If we loved a name that didn’t start with an L we would have named her that, but we couldn’t come up with anything.
“We had a boy name but we didn’t have a girl name.
“I really liked the name Monroe and Londyn’s middle name was going to be May or Monroe.”
Branden then added: “Then I was going through adding L to the beginning of names.
“And I said, ‘What about Lonroe?’ We had that one for a little bit and we’d always think about it and think it sounds good but it’s not the name, it’s not the exact name.”
Following the gender reveal, they went back to the drawing board and that was when Branden came up with the name Lynroe.
“I liked the name Lenin and the nickname Lennie and I was like, ‘Oh if we did Lynroe it has a Y which I think is just the prettiest and she could have the nickname Lynnie which I thought was so cute’,” Ema said.
“It’s extremely unique.
“Again, everyone has their own tastes but I think it’s extremely cool to have your dad make your name.
“And if she ever did want a more traditional name, which I don’t think she would, she could just go by Lyn.”
Branden added he’s well aware that the name might not be to everyone’s taste, but said the most important thing is that they love it, and it fits their daughter perfectly.
“There might be a couple of people that are like ‘That’s too out there’, which I don’t think it is, but I think most people will really, really like it,” he concluded.
Lynroe’s middle name, Breckyn, is a reference to Colorado town Breckenridge, where Ema and Branden got married.
