I’m a cleaning pro & how to keep you warm without heating & why opening all the windows when it’s cold is a must
FROM wrapping up in layers to holding hot water bottles, the cost-of-living crisis has forced many to search for ways to keep warm this winter.
And according to a cleaning whizz, there are other ways you can keep toasty in the colder months without having to switch on the heating and making your bills skyrocket.
Ann Russell, whose advice has made her somewhat of an internet sensation, shared the hack on TikTok, where she has over 2.2million fans.
After watching her videos, one desperate follower left a comment seeking help from the guru.
”Ann, how can I keep my house warm without having to put the heating on?
”We don’t have curtains or anything. Need the warmth for my ill health.”

The guru then proceeded to reply and contrary to what many might assume the first thing you do is opening all the windows.
”When it’s cold, it’s actually a great idea – when it’s below freezing cause the air is dry.
”Dry all the window frames and everything off […]. You must ventilate.”
Ann also advised to invest in at least one heat source – whether that’s a portable heater or a little electric fire.

Just as crucial, she added in the video, is remembering that it’s winter after all, which means dressing properly rather than roaming around the house in shorts and a t-shirt.
”You layer up. You wear loads and loads of layers.

”Your dog wears layers, your cat has a warm bed and you eat lots of really good food.”
As usual, Ann’s advice has gone viral on social media, with many flocking to comments to share their top tips too.
One suggested: ”If you have the ability go to the thrift store get some old blankets or bed sheets because I know they said they didn’t have curtains.”

Another advised: ”Wear a woolly hat indoors! Works really well.”
”Also if you are using the kettle for tea you can use any excess for hot water bottles. The kettle can be expensive but if you are putting it on anyway,” penned a third.
