The Vieux-Saint-Eustache Christmas market returns
Building on the undeniable success of its first edition, which attracted around 10,000 people , the Vieux-Saint-Eustache Christmas market will once again bring the neighborhood to life during its second edition, which will take place in the gardens of the Globensky manor, on December 2, 3, 4 and 9, 10, 11, 2022. The local and regional population is thus invited to discover the gourmet and artisanal products of 35 exhibitors who, on site, will offer tastings and demonstrations of their know-how according to the city’s announcement. The Christmas market will be embellished with background music and an enchanting decor thanks to illuminated trees and colorful houses erected as kiosks.
In a natural fusion with the Vieux-Saint-Eustache Christmas market, the Globensky manor will host this year the Salon des Artisans en Métiers d’Art de Saint-Eustache, formerly held in the premises of the Knights of Columbus. Thus, about twenty craftsmen and craftswomen in arts and crafts will exhibit their diversified and original creations, on the 2nd floor of the Globensky mansion.
Visitors can also take advantage of a host of activities organized at the Globensky mansion alongside the Christmas market. On Fridays, visitors can celebrate the holiday season with tea at the Espace muséal du manoir Globensky (EMMG). On Saturdays and Sundays, several creative workshops will appeal to both adults and children: decorating cookies, making beeswax candles, making Christmas cards. Finally, visiting the EMMG one can discover the magnificent paper sculptures of the artist Claude Lafortune, by visiting the temporary exhibition Noah’s Ark according to Claude Lafortune which is presented there until April 23, 2023.
Animation and outdoor activities on site
Various activities will take place alongside the Christmas market. The two weekends will thus be punctuated by various performances, traveling entertainment and mythical characters. The Chœur des Îles will perform a capella songs, especially when the market opens on Friday, December 2 at 5 p.m. Residents are also welcome at this happy hour, during which, mulled wine and the signature cocktail of the Christmas market will be available. On Saturday December 10, participants will be able to learn the art of juggling and balance techniques during a circus workshop. Traveling songs and tales for children around the fire complete the diversified programming of the 2022 edition
