Star Hobson’s evil mum and psychopathic lover got £500k in legal aid from taxpayers
THE evil mum of murdered tot Star Hobson and her psychopathic lover received nearly £500,000 in legal aid.
Frankie Smith, 21, let Savannah Brockhill, 29, use 16-month-old Star as a punchbag before battering her to death.
Smith got eight years, later increased to 12. Brockhill got life with a minimum of 25 years.
But papers obtained via a Freedom of Information request reveal the legal fight for the pair, from Keighley, West Yorks, was paid for by the taxpayer.
And the £489,429 cost is expected to rise further after Smith failed in her bid to stop a judge increasing her sentence.
Last night, Star’s furious great-grandad Frank Smith said: “They don’t deserve a penny of it.”

“The justice system is weighted far too heavily on the side of those who carry out shocking crimes.
“What about their victims? How can it cost £500,000 to represent two people who killed a tiny defenceless baby?”
Their treatment is in stark contrast to tragic 16-month-old Star whose grave remains without a headstone two years after she was brutally murdered in Keighley, West Yorks.
Her family says she has been deprived of dignity even in death.
