Coronation Street’s Alison King splits from fiancé David Stuckey after lockdown postponed their wedding
CORONATION Street favourite Alison King has split from fiancé David Stuckey.
The 49-year-old — known to millions as Carla Connor in the ITV soap — has been dating IT consultant David, 40, since March 2018.

But they were forced to postpone their ceremony with weeks to go after lockdown restrictions made the wedding a logistical nightmare.
Now, sources say the couple have quietly ended their engagement.
One said: “Alison and David have sadly decided to separate. They were very much in love for a long time but have ended up growing apart.

“They parted amicably and both wish each other the best in the future.”
Alison and David met when they were introduced by the personal trainer they shared.
In a magazine interview to announce their engagement in 2019, the actress revealed he had proposed during a sunset cruise on their one-year anniversary.
Alison, whose character Carla wed for the fifth time on screen last year, also said she bought David a Rolex watch as an engagement present.

She said: “I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going, ‘Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened’.”
She went on: “I find wedding stuff a bit like work because I’ve got married so many times at work but this is for real and it’s exciting. I just want it to be really relaxing.”
The source added: “It’s obviously very sad for them both, but they knew they couldn’t continue on together.
“Both knew that it wasn’t right.”
Alison, who also appeared in Sky One series Dream Team, joined the long-running soap in 2006.
She has been romantically linked to ex-Corrie star Philip Middlemiss, who played Des Barnes, Dream team co-star Jim Alexander and Brookside’s Louis Emerick.
She also had a relationship with Corrie sound technician Adam Huckett.
A show spokeswoman last night declined to comment.
