Woman, 31, charged with murder after two-month-old boy dies from head injuries at block of flats
A WOMAN has been charged with murder after a baby boy died from head injuries in Essex.
Police were called to a block of flats in Harlow following reports two-month-old Malik Olayia had fallen ill.
The baby died after falling ill in Harlow[/caption]Sadly he couldn’t be saved and was declared dead after being rushed to hospital.
Police have now charged Ellodie Goncalves, 31, with murder and child neglect.
Muritala Olaiya-Imam, 36, has been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child and child neglect.
Both are due to appear at Colchester Magistrates Court today.
Baby Malik was found unconscious and not breathing at the flats on the morning of August 19, 2020.
He was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

His provisional cause of death was given as “head injuries, pending further investigation.”
Coroner’s officer, Andre Kimshe, told an inquest opening: “On August 19, baby Malik was found at home unconscious and not breathing.
“Paramedics attended and he was conveyed to Harlow hospital where his death was confirmed at 9.53am.”
