‘No urgency’ – Spurs legend hits out at ‘disappointing’ decision against West Ham
Tottenham Hotspur legend Micky Hazard has criticised the club’s lack of urgency in the second half of the 1-0 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.
Tottenham produced a poor display in the second period of proceedings at the London Stadium and were undone by a Michail Antonio tap-in from a corner after 72 minutes.
The defeat ensured Spurs’ poor run in London derbies continued this season, already making it the club’s fourth defeat against opposition in the capital.
While it was ultimately a poor showing from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, his team ended the first half as the stronger of the two sides and carried that on early into the second 45.
However, Spurs looked to retreat into their shell and let West Ham take control of the game’s flow, which led to the hosts capitalising on their positive spell on the ball midway into the second period.
Tottenham’s showing left club legend Hazard incredibly unimpressed, who took to social media to voice his disappointment with the tail end of the performance after what looked to be a promising display.
After a very good last 25 mins of first half and a decent start to the 2nd half we decided to slow the game down, especially after going 1-0 down to a very poor goal. There was no urgency in our play to get the goal back and actually played even slower. Disappointing

Spurs had chances to score and would have put them away on another day, but the side just let West Ham dictate the play in the second half.
It was disappointing to see the way they let the hosts overpower them, while the way the goal was conceded was incredibly frustrating overall.
