Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘will become Norway boss after getting Man Utd sack – but will take break between jobs’
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER could take over as Norway manager if he gets sacked by Manchester United after a short break, reports suggest.
Solskjaer has come under fire this season following a poor start that has seen United struggling in the Premier League and Champions League.
It all got tremendously worse on Sunday when the Red Devils were thrashed by rivals Liverpool with a score of 5-0 following a disastrous display at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian head coach’s position is becoming increasingly untenable but it seems like a big job awaits him if United’s hierarchy decides to wield the axe.
According to former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft, Solskjaer could take over as Norway manager after current head coach Stale Solbakken calls it a day.
But Fjortoft added that his compatriot will first take some time off between jobs.
The former Middlesbrough ace tweeted: “[Solskjaer] will, as any manager, eventually get the sack.
“Then he will take some time off. After that he will succeed Solbakken (when he says enough is enough) as Norwegian National Coach.”

The 48-year-old coach saw his team suffer a humiliating drubbing to bitter rivals Liverpool, who were 4-0 ahead by half-time.
The United legend admitted after the game that his side hit ‘rock bottom’ but insisted he will not quit.
Solskjaer said: “That fourth goal is when you go into half-time with having to score one every 15 minutes. I know these boys are capable of it. But the fourth – that was probably game over.
“You can look at last season when we lost to Spurs 6-1, but this is worse, miles worse. This is miles worse for me as a Manchester lad. I’ve just got to say we have to get over this as quickly as we can.
“I have come too far, we have come too far as a group. We are too close to give up now.
“It is going to be a difficult one. The players will be low but there’s loads of characters there.
“We know we are rock bottom, we can’t feel any worse than this. Let’s see where we take it.”
