OAKLAND — A man was shot to death in East Oakland Thursday morning, police said.
Police are trying to identify the victim.
He was found shot around 12:35 a.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of East 17th Street, a residential area near San Antonio Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released a motive for the killing or said what the man was doing in the area. No arrests have been made.
The killing is the 75th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 50 homicides in the city.
