In Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law on a “transitional period” for Crimea and Donbass
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft law “On the Foundations of State Policy for the Transition Period”, according to the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.
“The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law “On the Principles of State Policy for the Transition Period”. The key objectives of the document: to introduce elements of transitional justice, in particular, liability for offenses related to temporary occupation, restrictions on the election and appointment of Ukrainian citizens who were involved in the activities of the occupation forces and the occupation administrations of Russia, measures to develop a sustainable world”, – the message says.
In addition, the draft law “is fundamentally proposed to consolidate at the level of law the definition of the Russian Federation as an aggressor state and an occupying state.” Also, the Ukrainian government proposed to introduce the institution of convalidation to revoke the legal force of transactions made on the territory of the LPR and Crimea.
The draft law also proposes “to introduce elements of transitional justice, in particular liability for offenses related to temporary occupation, restrictions on the election and appointment of Ukrainian citizens who were involved in the activities of the occupation forces and the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation”.
