Woman ‘punched girlfriend who was sleep talking about her ex’
A woman allegedly pummeled her girlfriend after hearing her talk about her ex-lover in her sleep. Alexis Dorothy Talley, 23, is accused of punching her 21-year-old girlfriend at the apartment they share in Florida.
Police responded to a 911 call around 11.40pm on June 13 about a fight in progress and came into contact with the victim. The victim told cops that she was sleeping when Talley woke her up and ‘told her she was talking in her sleep about an ex’, according to an arrest affidavit form Pinellas County.
The two women began arguing and it escalated to a physical fight in the Tampa Bay area home on the 200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The victim said that Talley ‘began punching her in the face’, according to the arrest report. The victim had ‘visible swelling to the right side of her face consistent with her statement’, cops said.
Talley acknowledged that she confronted her girlfriend verbally after hearing her sleep talk. However, Talley insisted that the fight ‘was only verbal and not physical’ and that her girlfriend became injured due to ‘a previous disorder and not from tonight’.
Police arrested Talley and she was charged with domestic battery. She was booked into the county jail and was released the following day on a $2,500 bond. A judge has ordered Talley to stay away from her girlfriend.
Talley has a prior criminal record. It led her to a no contest plea and an enhanced felony charge for allegedly slugging her girlfriend. Talley has been convicted of disorderly conduct, DUI and marijuana possession. She already faced a felony marijuana possession linked to an arrest in May. Cops took Talley into custody during a traffic stop in which they found two bags full of marijuana in the car she was driving.
The victim’s identity was not immediately disclosed by authorities.
