Here are the nominees:
Jaden Alexander, St. Patrick-St. Vincent basketball: Scored 24 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and was 12-for-14 from the free-throw line for No. 9 SPSV in a 57-52 victory over third-ranked Miramonte.
Gabe Barrett, Mountain View baseball: Back on the mound for the first time since he pitched a no-hitter with 17 strikeouts against Wilcox, Barrett was dominant again in a 3-0 victory over Los Altos. The senior struck out 14 and scattered six hits without a walk to win for the fourth time in four starts.
Nico Button, Serra baseball: Went 4 for 4 with a home run and seven RBIs in a 17-3 victory over Sacred Heart Cathedral, giving him home runs in back-to-back games. He’s also a valedictorian for Serra’s class of 2021.
Harrison Carrington, Sacred Heart Prep basketball: Scored 19 points in a 51-50 victory over Bellarmine. Also had 20 points in a loss to Priory and 24 in a win over Harker.
Justin Cavagnaro, St. Francis baseball: Had three hits, including a home run, and two RBIs to power the Lancers past No. 1 Valley Christian 7-2.
Joey Donnelly, De La Salle baseball: The Cal-bound senior sent a fastball soaring over the right-field fence for a two-run, game-ending home run in the bottom of the 10th inning as De La Salle won in East Bay Athletic League play. The shot, Donnelly’s third home run of the season, extended De La Salle’s winning streak to seven games.
Jorren Edmonds, Washington-Fremont basketball: The senior scored 25 points as the Huskies bounced back from a loss to Moreau Catholic to roll past American in Mission Valley Athletic League play.
Logan Johnstone, Los Gatos baseball: Homered, tripled and drove in five runs as Los Gatos cruised to a 15-2 victory over Los Altos.
TJ Meagher, Dublin basketball: Finished with 21 points and six rebounds as Dublin completed a sweep of Foothill in EBAL play. In the previous game against Foothill, Meagher led the way with 18 points.
