Unheralded
Hey Everyone,
I haven't posted or commented here in quite some time, but I just wanted to point out what everyone else has already mentioned:
Atencio and Rowe have had the most underrated performances on the team. Yes, they've been recognized. But I want to mention the WHY they're still underrated.
Simply put, not everyone on the field gets to be the star, make the amazing save, hit golazos, etc. But what those two have done so far in this young season, is get their job done so effectively, that you forget about them during the game.
Both have great numbers, and some solid moments, but for the most part, if you think about the critical moments of the game, they're not what you're seeing. But what they do is quietly keep the rest of the engine flowing the way its supposed to. Nothing against Delem, but when he comes into that spot, most of the time you notice, as the level of passing goes down, and he gets stuck into tackles in ways that make you kinda scratch your head.
Not so for Atencio or Rowe thus far. Just doing the dirty work, keeping that middle locked down, and easing the pressure on the rest of the squad to go out and make the spectacular look ordinary.
Anyways...just enjoying what I see in that position on the field right now, since it's being used a bit differently than the past.
Have a great weekend everyone
