‘Head is hurting’ – Some Spurs fans react to Mourinho sacking
Some Tottenham fans on social media were pleased to hear that Jose Mourinho had been sacked but were left surprised at the timing of the announcement.
Multiple reports over the past few weeks had indicated that the writing was on the wall for Mourinho as the club’s chances of a top-four finish appeared to be diminishing.
Tottenham today confirmed that the 58-year-old and his coaching staff, Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra, were relieved off their duties, with Ryan Mason set to temporarily take over first-team duties.
Some Spurs fans believed that Mourinho’s sacking was inevitable but others were surprised at Daniel Levy decision to pull the plug less than a week before the Carabao Cup Final.
Meanwhile, a few suggested that perhaps Tottenham’s inclusion in the European Super League on Sunday might have had something to do with Levy’s decision on Mourinho since the North Londoners were in line for a potential financial boost from the newly announced competition.
Don't think too hard about where Spurs have suddenly got the cash to fire Mourinho…

I would have wanted Jose to stay and change the fortunes of the club. Unfortunately for all the hopes, the sacking doesn't come as a surprise and it doesn't hurt as much as it hurt when Poch got sacked.
We need to clear the dressing room, whoever we bring in next.

Levy: “You’re sacked.”
Jose: “why?”
Levy: “That’s a good question. But you don’t deserve an answer.”

Was always going to be an expensive job sacking Jose and getting Nagelsmann but with the shiny ESL money coming in, Spurs can do what they want. To be honest its hard to react to this is any sort of way when the future of the game is at stake.

The right call has been made with Jose. Now time to sack yourself Mr Levy.
This was your appointment, this was your failure as much as his. Your time is up.

Spurs Web Opinion
I do not believe the extra fund Spurs are potentially set to receive as a result of the European Super League had anything to do with this decision. The competition is still unlikely to go ahead as there will be legal challenges.
I believe Levy probably made up his mind a while ago but it was possible that the Spurs chairman was preoccupied with the details regarding the ESL announcement until yesterday and decided to make the move once the details of the ESL were made public.
