Mum-of-seven shares candid naked snaps after putting on three stone during lockdown – and reveals how she’s lost it ALL
LOOKING back on lockdown, it was almost inevitable that we were going to pack on a few pounds.
After all, the government guidance pretty much told us to stay inside, sit on the sofa and comfort eat countless packs of biscuits… or maybe that was just us.
Either way, mum-of-seven Tess Giddings is one person who knows what it feels like to be uncomfortable in your own skin after lockdown weight gain.
Earlier this month, the Bournemouth-based mum – whose kids are aged between three and 14 – shared a TikTok video documenting how she shifted the weight.
Sharing footage of herself from November 2020, the mum explained: “I had gained over three stone in the first lockdown.
“I felt so unhealthy, tired and knew something had to change.”
Sharing naked photos at her heaviest, Tess added: “I didn’t want to focus on weight loss goals because I have spent years suffering with eating disorders and fad diets.
“I decided to focus on getting healthy!”
Admitting that it wasn’t easy to start, the mum explained how she began by changing her diet to kickstart her weight loss journey.
“The first two weeks were SO hard,” she said. “[I cut] out junk, sugar and eating clean but I got through it…
After changing her diet, Tess then started exercising again to both look and feel healthier.
She added: “I started feeling so much better eating clean and started to exercise with the help of an app called Jonple.”
The app provides users with a personalised fitness plan to help them achieve their specific fitness goals.
“As the weeks went by, I noticed how much more energy I had,” Tess said. “I could notice the weight dropping off.
“Fast forward to today – April 2021, four months on.
“I feel so much better! All the hard work was worth if and I feel so healthy which was the goal.”
The video racked up hundreds of ‘likes’ on TikTok and was a hit with Tess’ fans.
“OMG this is me and this is exactly what I needed to see,” one replied.
“Wow,” another added. “Just so you know, you were beautiful before too – but well done!”
A third said: “I love this progress – you’re gorgeous at any weight but I would love for clothes to fit better.”
