Texas House passes permit-less Constitutional Carry Bill
The Texas House passed its first-ever Constitutional Carry bill, HB 1927 by state @RepMattSchaefer, today. HB 1927 will allow law-abiding citizens over 21 to lawfully carry a handgun for personal protection without seeking a license to carry (LTC).
The Bill passed by vote of 87-58 in the House.
The GOP are concerned however that the Bill will not Pass the Senate:
“We must continue the pressure on our elected officials to keep the bills moving! For example, we must now tell the Lt. Governor and the Senate that they must vote on Constitutional Carry. We are hearing rumblings that the Senate side does not want to pass this priority.”
A fierce debate was triggered after the passing of the Bill. Bottom line, will Texans armed for self defense deter the rampant violence or will it create more violence.
Republicans argue obviously that the fear of a potential innocent victim being armed will deter armed and lawless violent thugs.
With the defunding of the police, more citizens are purchasing self defense weapons for self protection as well as that of families. Furthermore, pro law abiding citizens, as do gun organizations demand that professional training and legal purchase of guns continue to be top priority for gun owners.
