News and Notes around MLB for Saturday
News and Notes on this Saturday in Major League Baseball. There are 17 games scheduled for today as the Mets/Rockies and Blue Jays/Royals will play doubleheaders to make up for the postponements from Friday. The White Sox and Red Sox will make up their postponement as part of a doubleheader tomorrow.
Cavan Biggio will not start the first game of the doubleheader for the Blue Jays, Rotowire reports. This could be just a matter of a player not starting both games of a DH, but Biggo did have to leave the game early Thursday after taking a line drive off his right hand.
The Rays will sit Brandon Lowe today versus Jordan Montgomery and the Yankees, according to RotoWire. This is nothing more than Lowe not starting versus a left-handed starter; he should be back in the lineup Sunday.
The Nationals will give Victor Robles the day off Saturday, according to RotoWire. Robles is 1-11 during his last four games with six strikeouts.
Ozzie Albies is out of the lineup for the Braves today, RotoWire reports. Albies took a pitch off of the kneecap or shin during the game yesterday, and this absence is expected just to be the team playing it safe.
