LEINSTER’S clash against Toulon has been called off just hours before the game.
The two sides were due to go head to head on Friday but it has now been called off.
News emerged in French media that there had been a Covid-19 case in the Toulon camp and it could mean a walkover for Leo Cullen’s side.
The official Leinster rugby account confirmed the news just five hours before the game was due to kick off.
The news means that it is likely that Leinster will progress to the Champions Cup quarter-final against the winners of Exeter Chiefs and Lyon.
The ECPR have confirmed that a ‘Match Result Resolution Committee will be convened as soon as practicable to determine the outcome of the fixture.’
Toulon are currently in Dublin ahead of the game and with fixtures scheduled next weekend it makes it likely that Leo Cullen’s side could be awarded a 28-0 walkover.
