'Too bad -- this is accountability': MAGA rioter who whined about unfairness mocked by CNN legal analyst
CNN legal analyst Elie Honig on Friday mocked the Capitol rioter whined in court about how unfair it was that he's been detained for a whole month after breaking into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office.
Arkansas resident Richard Barnett, who was infamously photographed with his feet placed on Pelosi's desk during the January 6th riots, screamed at a judge in court on Thursday about the unfairness of his situation.
Honig, however, said that Barnett's decision to throw a tantrum would do little to help his legal case.
"Not to put too fine a point on it, but he should have thought about that before he broke into the Speaker of the House's office, before he stole property from that office," he said. "So now he's faced with the consequences."
Honig went on to explain that the facts of the case do not care about Barnett's personal feelings.
"Maybe he feels like it's not fair, but, you know, too bad at this point," he said. "You know, this is what accountability is all about, this is what the investigations are all about, this is what prosecution is all about."
