'I'm not going to resign': Andrew Cuomo admits touching women was 'wrong' but will fight to keep job
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) on Wednesday rejected calls for his resignation after three woman accused him of unwanted advances.
During his first press conference in weeks, Cuomo addressed the allegations against him and promised to learn from the experience.
The governor said that there are "hundreds" of pictures of him kissing and touching men and women.
"It is my usual and customary way of greeting," he explained. "It was my father's way of greeting people. You're the governor of the state, you want people to feel comfortable, you want to reach out to them."
"However, what I also understand is it doesn't matter," Cuomo continued. "It doesn't matter my intent. What it matters is if anybody was offended by it. I could intend no offense but if they were offended by it then it was wrong."
He also said that he would not resign as governor.
"I'm not going to resign," Cuomo insisted. "I work for the people of the state of New York. They elected me and I'm going to serve the people of the state of New York."
