Selena Gomez on Creating ‘Baila Conmigo’ With Rauw Alejandro: ‘He Added So Much to This Song’
The Rauw Alejandro-assisted “Baila Conmigo,” was the second song Selena Gomez recorded for her upcoming EP Revelación, according to a “making of” video shared by Gomez for the latest Vevo Footnotes installment.
“I wanted something fun that everyone could dance to,” Selena notes in the new video. “I also wanted to work with artists I admired and who are respected in the Latin community. That’s when Rauw Alejandro came into the picture.”
Marking the first collab between Gomez and Alejandro, the rhythmic track produced by Tainy premiered Jan. 28 and debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Feb. 13). “Baila Conmigo” is about two people connecting through dance as seen in the music video directed by Nogari, which was shot in Brazil in October.
“De Una Vez,” Gomez’s first Spanish single of 2021, and “Baila Conmigo” will both be featured on Revelación, due March 12.
Gomez also shared an extended performance of “Baila Conmigo” — which aired for the first time exclusively on Premio Lo Nuestro Feb. 18 — to YouTube.
