Gallery reopens with art created during lockdown
When the world is upside down, creativity can be a great salvation. Seeking inspiration though can be a challenge. Twenty nine artists came together during lockdown, each working on their own artistic practices, and will now present their work in a new group exhibition at Gloria Gallery in Nicosia.
Art in the Times of Lockdown, as the exhibition is titled, will open on Wednesday, the first day the Gallery will open this year. Cypriot artists from all fields of art will present what they created during these uncertain circumstances, ranging from paintings and sculptures to ceramics and photography.
Until March 10, given that measures don’t change, art lovers can attend the exhibition and browse the art born during the lockdown. Though open to the public, the Gallery will follow all health and safety rules in place, allowing a small number of masked visitors in at a time.
The participating artists are: Stavros Antonopoulos, Eugenia Vassiloudi, George Gabriel, Andreas Efesopoulos, Renos Efesopoulos, Kyriaki Efesopoulos, Doros Irakleous, Nina Iakovou, Kyriakos Kallis, Evagoras Karagiorgis, Stavros Kikas, Giorgos Kotsonis, Annita Laniti, Georgia Michaelidou, Despo Nikolaidou, Eleni Nikodimou, Yianna Nikolaou, Lefteris Olympios, Marion Paschali, George Pafitis, Mary Savva, Chara Savvidou, Myro Skapoulli, Leonidas Spanos, Olga Spanou, Mariam Souchanova-Foukara, Christos Foukaras, Pampos Christodoulou, and Christina Christofi.
