Widden Stud Magic Success
The record breaking 2021 Magic Millions Yearling Sale Book 1 at the Gold Coast this week produced stunning results with Widden Stud selling 37 yearlings in total for an aggregate $11,700,000 including the highest priced colt of the entire sale, while our flagship sire Zoustar was in hot demand.
Stealing the show for Widden was our Snitzel colt from Bonny O’Reilly that made $1.9million to the bid of Tom Magnier and we also achieved a seven figure result with our Zoustar colt from Fuddle Dee Duddle that made $1million when secured by Victorian Alliance/Suman Hedge B’Stock (FBAA)/David Redvers Bloodstock
Our fillies were also in hot demand with the I am Invincible filly from Group I winner Bonaria selling for $975,000 to Busuttin Racing , while the I Am Invincible filly from Group II winner Flying Snitzel made $850,000 when bought by Terry Snow’s Willinga Park Operations.
Zoustar was super popular with 49 yearlings generating $13,835,000 at an average $282,347.
His top seller was the Fuddle Dee Duddle colt, but it was interesting to see his top priced filly at $700,000 was the full sister to our exciting young sire Zousain. She was offered by Element Hill and bought by Peachester Lodge.
Sebring’s final crop of yearlings were snapped up by the best judges with 29 averaging $209,400 and his top seller was a colt from Miss Wonderland that made $500,000 for us when bought by China Horse Club/ Newgate Bloodstock.
Star Witness had four yearlings average $215,000 with his top seller the full sister to Terminology and Swift Witness that made $280,000 for us when bought by Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott/Kestrel Thoroughbreds.
Nicconi had seven yearlings average $151,429 with his best results coming from a colt from Enchanting Beauty offered by Newhaven Park and bought by Mick Price Racing for $260,000 and a colt from Amansara that made $250,000 for Mill Park when bought by Edmonds Racing/Kestrel Thoroughbreds.
Sebring’s first season son Supido had just two yearlings for Book 1, colts from Intuit and Bisutti , and they sold for $180,000 and $120,000 bought by Mick Price Racing and Danny O’Brien Racing so will get every chance to succeed.
